Safety and Firefighting
The Safety and Fire Protection division is responsible for designing systems to prevent, control, and extinguish fires, thereby minimizing potential hazards in the event of an incident.
Its scope includes:
- Design of firewater ring systems, firewater tanks, and fire pumps
- Layout of hydrants and monitors
- Design of deluge systems, foam systems, and equipment cooling systems in process areas
- Design of automatic fire detection and gas suppression systems for electrical and control rooms
This section can also model and assess consequences, such as fire scenarios or the dispersion of flammable/toxic gases, to ensure an appropriate layout and safety measures.
